 About Karen

Karen has been doodling and writing pretty for as long as she can recall and gives credit to her parents for encouraging her by their example of exceptional handwriting.  Over thirty years ago Karen did the calligraphy for her own wedding and since then has done lettering for friends and organizations.  Her true professional start was in 2005 when she donated her services to a silent auction event at her church for fifty envelopes.  The wedding was large and the bride needed twice that many envelopes addressed so Karen contracted to do calligraphy for the entire event from invites to place cards.  Her business built from that and she now enjoys helping many brides send their invitations through the mail with that special look of calligraphy.

Once limited by cartridge pens with black ink she now loves to work in colors and various styles and nibs to create an unique look for each wedding.  Her ideas for styling and creating personal ways to indicate the seating arrangements at weddings and corporate events have set her lettering apart from others.  She was featured in the Martha Stewart's Dreamers into Doers website in the October 2009 as "Doer of the Week" and chosen to be part of the Sisterhood of Dreamers 2010 Event at the Martha Stewart headquarters in New York City,  It was an accolade that she is especially proud.
